Flights are cancels ILM to Atlanta

Two Delta flights out of Wilmington International Airport to Atlanta are canceled Tuesday because of wintry weather.The 1:50 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. flights from ILM to Atlanta are canceled, but airport Operations Director Gary Broughton cautioned flyers to check with their airlines.All flights to other destinations were still running as scheduled, he said.

On Delta’s Web site, the flight numbers for the canceled flights were 5606 and 5235. Atlanta, the forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain and snow with some snow accumulation.In Wilmington, up to a half of an inch of rain is expected to fall Tuesday, and it could turn to snow after 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the weather service’s forecast Monday night.The low temperature Tuesday night was forecast to be 35 degrees, above freezing. No accumulation is expected, the forecast said.
