Airline currently flights from Melbourne to Alice

The airline currently flies from Melbourne to Alice Springs three times a week.Tiger spokeswoman Vanessa Regan says the route is profitable and no changes are planned. There are absolutely no plans to suspend or indeed cancel any services to and from Alice Springs, she said.We are the only major domestic low-fare carrier servicing the region and we are pleased with demand on the route.

Singapore-based Tiger has a chequered history in the Northern Territory. The airline first targeted Australia with a Singapore to Darwin service in 2005, before launching a daily Darwin to Melbourne operation in November 2007.The following August it announced it was pulling out of the Top End.Offered a territory taxpayer subsidy, Tiger returned to Darwin amid much fanfare in June last year, promising it would be there for the long haul.
In November, it said its Darwin to Melbourne flights would be cancelled between February and March and resume between the peak tourist season of March 31 to October 31.But Tiger services to Darwin did not resume as promised.
