Flights from Munich to Baghdad

The economic recovery of Iraq has been aided by the opening of a new flight route between Baghdad and Munich, something which could lead wealthier Iraqis to accommodation in Munich.German airline Lufthansa has announced that the first commercial flights connecting the two cities in 20 years will officially begin on September 30th this year.

The new service will run four times a week on a Boeing 737 jet, which was previously used by the Swiss firm PrivatAir.Flights between Germany and Iraq have been operating since April this year, but only to the northern Iraqi city of Erbil.Lufthansa has flights coming in from 117 destinations in 44 countries, meaning hotels München are increasingly varied in terms of visitors.Munich airport celebrated its 18th birthday in May this year and figures show that 5.7 million flights have seen 416 million passengers use the facility during that time.
