Philippine Airlines cancels 46 flights

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines  is disputing the number of cancelled flights claimed by the management of Ninoy Aquino International Airport .In a text message sent to ABS-CBN News on Sunday, PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the firm only cancelled 46 flights, 18 of which are domestic and 28 are international.

This is contrary to NAIA’s claim that PAL cancelled 67 international and domestic flights.There are 46 cancelled flights today. There are 94 flights that are green and go. PAL is still in transition since our non-core units were officially turned over to service providers yesterday,she said.PAL said they also diverted 16 domestic flights to Terminal 3.PAL is already 70% operational and expects to be fully operational in two weeks after the transition period.Villaluna said the affected passengers can re-book their flights on PAL or Airphil Express free of charge.

She also said the passengers can book seats in any of the foreign airlines that PAL has a code-sharing arrangement .These airlines include Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air and Malaysian Airlines.Villaluna assured the passengers will not incur extra charges if they choose this option.
