More flights cancelled by Kingfisher

Problems continued for passengers booked on Kingfisher flights as the airline again cancelled ten flights out of Mumbai on Sunday.The airline had assured passengers that it would update a fresh schedule of cancelled and scheduled flights.However, uncertainty reigned as no schedule was updated. Since many passengers booked on Kingfisher flights want to cancel their tickets for the coming days, travel agents have urged the airline to waive cancellation charges.

Tour operators said that several passengers booked to travel on Kingfisher flights this week want to shift to other airlines. However, since the airline won’t waive the ticket cancellation fee of Rs 750 unless the flight is actually cancelled, many are forced to wait till the schedule is clear.We are advising passengers to hold back till the airline announces cancellations so that they do not lose money. The only problem is that the airline will announce the cancellation only 24 hours in advance. This leaves flyers uncertain,said Pradip Lulla, managing director, Cupid Travels.Our fraternity has asked the airline to waive cancellation charges until a proper flight schedule is announced for the flyers,he added. Many business flyers, however, have already changed their bookings.

To keep to their appointments, most business flyers booked on Kingfisher have changed bookings to other airlines. They are willing to pay the cancellation fee rather than take the risk of a last-minute flight cancellation,said a Fort-based travel agent. Airline officials said that Kingfisher will give a proper schedule of flights only after November 19. “Passengers will know the status of flights in advance once the schedule is released by next week. It will be sent to all members of Kingfisher’s King Club members as well, an airline official said.Several passengers booked on Kingfisher flights this week want to shift to other airlines. The airline, however, refuses to waive the ticket cancellation fee unless the flight is actually cancelled.
