Thai Airways adds more flights

Unhappy passengers want Thai Airways International to put on more flights to help travellers stranded by European-wide ban on flights caused by a volcanic ash cloud.Ash thrown up by the Iceland volcano grounded air traffic for days and left thousands of travellers stranded.

A source at the Airports of Thailand (AoT) said the airline had received complaints. It had barely increased the number of Europe flights to clear the backlog of travellers waiting for flights.More than 300 Europe-bound passengers are still stranded at Suvarnabhumi airport, waiting for the backlog to clear. The AoT has arranged a rest area for them at the airport.Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI president, said THAI had added two more Europe-bound flights to its daily flight schedule to European countries.
